Composer’s Note:

Trepidations is one of four pieces for piano duo that I wrote as part of my doctoral dissertation in 2011. These works utilize a new systematic approach to composition that I created called the “Take-Away System.” The system uses modular arithmetic over a finite set and can be used to govern musical decisions.
