The Slim Shady LP is Eminems major-label debut, the record that introduced his Slim Shady persona to a national audience after the underground release Infinite. Released on Dr. Dres Aftermath label, it brought a darker, more theatrical edge to late-1990s rap and won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. My Name Is turns provocation into a deadpan calling card, while Guilty Conscience frames Eminem and Dr. Dre as dueling voices inside a string of bad decisions. Role Model sharpens the albums satirical bite, and Just Dont Give a Fuck keeps one foot in the rawer underground style that preceded his breakthrough. Available here as a 2-disc vinyl set.
