Sparkle is an engaging showpiece that delights in quick character shifts and liquid register changes, and allows the utist and marimba players to display lyricism and technique across a variety of moods. The triangle part acts as coloration for longer notes, or provides occasional emphasis in a phrase, against the major ute and marimba parts.

This version for ute, triangle, and two marimbas was expanded from the original for ute solo and optional triangle.
