Roxy & Elsewhere by Zappa / Mothers is a 1974 live album from Frank Zappas mid-1970s Mothers lineup, centered on performances recorded at the Roxy Theatre in Hollywood. The set captures the George Duke, Ruth Underwood, Chester Thompson, and Napoleon Murphy Brock era of the band, with Zappa shaping concert material into a tightly sequenced album. Village of the Sun gives the record one of its most direct narrative turns, while Echidnas Arf (of You) and Dont You Ever Wash That Thing? push the band through intricate, fast-moving ensemble passages. Be-Bop Tango (of the Old Jazzmens Church) closes the album as both a performance piece and a sly audience-participation routine. Available on CD.
