NYC Ghosts & Flowers is Sonic Youths eleventh studio album, made after much of the bands touring equipment was stolen in 1999. The disruption helped shape a more stripped-back, exploratory record built around new instruments and a strong spoken-word influence.

Free City Rhymes opens the album with slowly unfolding guitar interplay, while Nevermind (What Was It Anyway) pushes toward a more compact attack and the title track pairs Kim Gordons recitation with an unsettled instrumental backdrop. This edition is presented on CD.
