It may surprise you to hear this 18th century French carol set in a minor key over a driving accompaniment, but you can put your trust in Jay Althouse for this phenomenal concert work. From the first repeated eighth notes of the introduction to the final full chords of Noel, it’s a seasonal dynamic thriller. A primarily English text is combined with five simple Latin words (translation and pronunciation provided). Choirs of all levels can sing in the season with live or recorded brass and percussion using the optional SoundPax or SoundTrax, or feature your accompanist on the fun-to-play piano part.
