Composer’s Note:

I seek the deepest power of harmony and tonal relations, or as the old Indians might say, new camps, new waves on worn waters. This new mode of expression has been opened to those playing the Native flute and who are dedicated to the world of classical music; we will find it in this, Sonata Nr. 1, and my solos, Awakening, for solo flute.
