Balancing sinister themes with bold harmonies, this impressive work was inspired by a historic figure of the middle ages. Regular doublings between Violin II and Viola, as well as octaves between cello and bass, will encourage young players to play confidently while focusing on intonation. Your developing musicians will love the extending technique of “finger taps” which asks them to gently tap the body of their instruments to create percussive sounds.
