O’Grady here has crafted a warm lyrical piece that explores a variety of emotional nuances. Heart Strings features a passionate main theme that hovers between C major and C Dorian and a contrasting theme of a broader more noble nature. The texture is characterized by lush but mild dissonances and the melodic material is distributed widely among violins viola and cello. Beautiful!
