A delightful collection of familiar songs and carols from all over, this set of books with playalong CD is a treat for the beginning string player. Each book is loaded with melodious gems that can be played as solos or together with other players. Each selection is designed to help young students learn to shape phrases, breathe with the music and use the beginning fingerings learned on the A and D strings for violin, viola and cello and the G and D strings for the bass. Also included are fingering charts and the play-along CD has a lively jazz and pop combo-styled rhythmic accompaniment. Fun Tunes for Strings contains: Are You Sleeping, Merrily We Roll Along, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, Jingle Bells, Allouette, When the Saints Go Marching In and more 31 popular melodies in all!
