Translated from German:

In the version for violin and piano,Extravaganzahas three movements that are very different in their expression. The first and third movements have strong rhythmic contours, with the third movement vaguely reminiscent of a tango. The second movement is entirely calm and static in character. It is introduced and ended by the sounds of a vibrato tone.
