A little known fact is that many of the Aebersold play-alongs were recorded with a live soloist in the studio to inspire the rhythm section and create an authentic feel to the accompaniment. This exciting CD contains the original 1982 and 1985 tracks recorded at the play-along session in which Liebman played tenor along with the rhythm section! With six Coltrane and five Shorter tunes, this is a unique opportunity to hear a master modernist soloing over well-known contemporary tunes. Titles: Naima * Blues Minor * A Love Supreme * Mr. Day * Impressions (fast) * Giant Steps (slow) * Footprints * Infant Eyes * Adam’s Apple * Ju-Ju * Yes or No * Tuning Notes (B-flat and A Concert).
