Infused with rock-fusion influences throughout, this smart Jamie Roth work is contemporary and cool. A synthesizer solo sets the tone for the bright-tempo rock feel. Muted trumpets and saxes build the first statement, punctuated by bari sax and bass bone, before the ensemble reaches a fantastic peak. There is ample solo space for any instrument. Don’t miss this one! Top trumpet note: D6.
