Expressive music both lyric and dramatic in two movements: CANZONA (11′) is performable separately, and is in turns meditative and dramatic; DANCE (5′) is a joyful celebration in 5/8 with rich harmony and infectious rhythm. The entire work has been recorded by the ensemble counter) induction for an Albany Records CD.

Canzona (1982) is dedicated to the memory of pianist Robert Miller and was co-winner of the 1982 New Music for Young Ensembles Competition.
