This historic release brings together previously unknown & unissued recordings along with rarities captured during 3 of the 4 California trips Bird made during his too-short life.

Highlights include How High the Moon from his historic 1945 engagement with Dizzy Gillespie at Billy Bergs, previously unknown performances from a 1948 Jazz at the Philharmonic concert at the Shrine Auditorium, & the complete recordings of the infamous 1952 naked party at the Altadena ranch of Jirayr Zorthian.
