Icon by Michael Jackson is a concise compilation drawing from his early solo years with Motown, highlighting recordings released while he was still a teenage artist in the early 1970s. Part of a broader catalog series, it focuses on the formative period that established his voice and crossover appeal.

Tracks like “Got to Be There” and “Ben” capture his emergence as a solo hitmaker, while “Rockin’ Robin” and “I Wanna Be Where You Are” reflect the bright, groove-driven sound that carried his early singles. The collection offers a focused snapshot of that era on CD.
