Alive III returned KISS to the live-album format that had shaped the bands 1970s breakthrough, this time capturing the early 1990s lineup in the wake of Revenge. The set draws a clear line across eras, pairing makeup-period staples with harder-edged material from the bands unmasked years.

Creatures of the Night and Unholy give the album a heavier opening frame, while Rock and Roll All Nite and Detroit Rock City keep the performance rooted in the bands core concert repertoire. God Gave Rock n Roll to You II brings in one of KISS key late-period singles before the closing Star Spangled Banner. Available here on CD.
