This revised edition brings together 17 famous songs by Robert Schumann in expressive transcriptions for cello and piano, arranged by Friedrich Grvtzmacher. In this adaptation, the cello takes over the original vocal part of these popular songs for voice and piano. Carefully selected keys, specifically adapted for the instrument, ensure a particularly comfortable playability, and give the works a well-balanced stylistic character. The edition offers a rewarding addition to the violoncello repertoire for teaching, home music-making, and concert stage.
