Dedicated to his daughter and scored for three instruments with rhythm section, this imaginative Mike Rossi samba, “Simba Samba,” features a quirky melody with intervallic leaps and improvised solo opportunities for all. To ensure that the melodic lines can be played well, he warns that the piece should not be played any faster than half-note equals 116. Part 1: Flute, oboe, violin, guitar (C) / alto sax (E-flat) / trumpet, clarinet, soprano sax, tenor sax (B-flat). Part 2: alto sax (E-flat) / trumpet, clarinet, tenor sax (B-flat). Part 3: trombone (C) / baritone sax (E-flat) / tenor sax (B-flat). Rhythm section.
