Commissioned by Sospiri for their CD A Multitude of Voices, this evocative setting of Edward Thomas’s 1916 poem showcases Alexander L’Estrange’s unique choral voice at its best. Combining classic choral textures, flavours of jazz harmony and moments of rhythmic suspense, Alexander has crafted a beautiful, bitter-sweet work that perfectly complements the wistful nature of this moving text. An ideal choice for services and concerts of remembrance.
