Take an exciting ride on the underground railroad with these three traditional spirituals about trains: The Gospel Train’s a-Comin’; Get on Board and This Train. Everyone has a chance to play the melody while getting a rhythmic workout in G major. Cellists venture into second position; upper strings stay in first. The dissonant double stops at the beginning of the medley sound like a real train whistle, and the rhythmic train-like figures between tunes keep the forward momentum going all the way! Highly recommended!
