John Coltrane Quartets Crescent was released in 1964 on Impulse! Records, arriving between Impressions and A Love Supreme during a pivotal stretch for the classic quartet. Recorded in 1964 with McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison, and Elvin Jones, the album reflects Coltranes deepening spiritual focus within a post-bop framework.

The title track Crescent unfolds as a slow, meditative statement, while Wise One carries a similar introspective tone through its lyricism. In contrast, Bessies Blues offers a more direct, blues-rooted performance, and Lonnies Lament centers Garrison in one of the groups most extended bass features. This edition is presented on vinyl.
