The cellist and pedagogue Justus Johann Friedrich Dotzauer (1783 to 1860) was among the most influential figures in the development of cello technique, and his studies have remained a cornerstone of the instrument’s pedagogy ever since. This Brenreiter Urtext edition presents his etudes for solo cello in a freshly edited scholarly text prepared by George Kennaway. Volume 2 continues the progressive sequence of studies, addressing a broad range of technical and musical challenges for the developing cellist.
