Works by Gabriel Faur and Nadia Boulanger for Cello and Piano

Some of the most elegant cello repertoire was written by French composers. With equal parts lyricism and charm, these seven beautiful solo melodies are a gift from prominent French composers Nadia Boulanger (1887 1979) and Gabriel Faur (1845 1924). Each solo work captures the essence of new Romantic music in 19th century Paris, featuring lighthearted tunes alongside melancholy meditations that are particularly well-suited to the sonorous violoncello.
